Sour Gas Test Systems (HPHT)

HPHT Sour Gas Testing Systems for Corrosion and Fatigue

H2S gas presents a serious materials problem for all aspects of oil and gas production, from exploration, transportation to refining.  In the presence of moisture, H2S gas dissociates and releases hydrogen, which permeates through metal lattices and concentrates in areas of high stress or material defect, causing unexpected catastrophic brittle fracture.  Selection of the proper alloy for a given set of temperature, pressure, H2S concentration and flow rate parameters is critical for safe and efficient operations.

Cortest offers a wide range of products for materials testing at high temperatures and high pressures in H2S (sour) environments and has provided proven solutions for H2S testing at HPHT since 1977.  These systems include static and dynamic autoclaves, flow loops, SSRT and corrosion fatigue systems, with all wetted components made from alloy C-276.  Full systems include the testing machine plus solution preparation/storage tanks, fume hoods, monitoring equipment, and H2S scrubbers.
